Obituary for Rev. William J. "Billy" Forrest, Jr.

A graveside service for Rev. William "Billy" J. Forrest, Jr. will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, June 28, 2020 at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Billy went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ Thursday, June 25, 2020. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife and best friend, Christine Gilliam Forrest. He was born in Crisp County to the late William Jordan Forrest, Sr. and Pearline Selph Forrest. He was a World War II veteran of the United States Army and worked at Harris Group for 42 years, retiring as Assembly Line Superintendent. He served in the ministry for 40 years, 33 of those at Tippettville Baptist Church. Billy sang for many years for the Lord with the Calvary Quartet. He was an active member of Northern Heights Baptist Church, even filling in on many occasions for the various pastors there. He was an integral part of the Senior Citizens Group and enjoyed singing and playing his guitar at their meetings and get-togethers. Billy is survived by two brothers Ernest Wyatt Forrest of Cordele and Allan Kenneth Forrest of Florida; and several special nieces and nephews.
