Obituary for Grace Lynell Holloway

Grace Lynell Holloway, 92 of Arabi, passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at Dodge County Hospital. She was born in Arabi and was the daughter of the late George William Story and Nolie Mae Harrison Story. Lynell was a homemaker and the wife of a farmer, the late John Holloway for 73 years. An active part of her community, she was always there to give a helping hand to any need that came about, and was a dedicated and faithful member of Haw Pond Baptist Church. Lynell loved to crochet and work puzzles. She was a talented cook and enjoyed serving up her family's favorite meals. Lynell is survived by two sons and their wives, Michael and Carlene Holloway of Cairo and Dale and Susan Holloway of Arabi; grandchildren, Dale Shannon Lackey and her husband, Tony of Newbern, NC, Michael Holloway of Kernersville, NC, Christi Gibbs and her husband, Scotty of Cordele, Christopher Holloway and his wife, Elizabeth of Americus, Stephen Gainous and his wife, Sasha of Thomasville, Mark Gainous and his wife, Tasha of Milledgeville, Brooke Bailey and her husband, John of Cairo, Cindi Mercer and her husband, Rob of Cordele and Ricky Pate and his wife, Sarah of North Carolina; and 17 great-grandchildren. A private graveside service only will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 15, 2020 at Bay Spring Cemetery with Rev. John Leab officiating. The family asks that memorial donations be made to the Georgia Sheriff's Youth Ranch, P.O. Box 1000, Stockbridge, GA 30281-9878, Georgia Baptist Children's Home, 9420 Blackshear Highway, Baxley, GA 31513 or to the charity of your choice.
