Obituaries

Graveside services for Clayton Wilkerson of Cochran will be held Thursday, March 11, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Veterans Section of Sunnyside Cemetery.  The family will receive friends prior to the service Thursday from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Wilkerson passed away Monday, March 8, 2010 at the Medical Center of Central Georgia.  Born in Wilcox County, he was the son of the late John Henry amd Flora Dozier Wilkerson.  He was retired from the United States Navy and New London Sub Base.  Mr. Wilkerson is survived by his son, James Wilkerson of San Antonio, Texas;  a sister, Nancy Geneva Wilkerson of Cochran;  a brother, Elbert Wilkerson of Cochran; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Champion Wilkerson; brothers, Leonard Wilkerson, Lloyd Wilkerson, Willis David Wilkerson, John "Bodie" Wilkerson, Clarence Wilkerson, Caris Wilkerson and Eugene Wilkerson.
