Obituaries

Funeral services for Matthew Parker Dickerson of Cordele will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 8, 2009 in the chapel Of Rainey Family Funeral Services. The committal service will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.  Matt, 27, passed away Tuesday at Phoebe-Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany.  He was born in Crisp County and was the son of Dickie and Vicki Whittington Dickerson of Cordele.  He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Christopher and Misty Dickerson; three nieces and his special friend, Lehna Meisner of Cordele.  The family request that anyone wishing to honor Matt with memorials, to please send them to the Spina Bifida Association of Georgia, 1448 McLendon Drive, Suite B, Decatur, GA 30033.
