Obituaries

Funeral services for Charlotte Ann Leddon of Cordele will be held Sunday, October 4, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at  Cordele First Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery.  Ms. Leddon  died Thursday at Crisp Regional Hospital.  Born in Dougherty County, she was the daughter of the late Emmett O'Neal and Julia Mercedes Bacon Leddon.  She was a teacher (RET)and  an active member of Cordele First Baptist Church and the Merry Sunday School Class.  Ms. Leddon is survived by three daughters, Kimberly Mergler, of Atlanta,  Eva Zwack of Saint Petersburg, FL and Catherine Nickles of Atlanta.  She was the beloved grandmother of six grandchildren, T.J. Mergler, Annie Hamilton, Henry Hamilton, Lawton Nickles, Leddon Zwack, and Keas Zwack.  She was preceded in death by her son, Claude Perry, Jr.  Her daughters request that memorials to the Children's Ministry of First Baptist Church be made in her honor.
