Obituaries

A Memorial service for James Thomas "Jim" Urquhart of Cordele will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 19, 2009 at Cordele First United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends beginning at 12:30 p.m. at the church.  Mr. Urquhart died Thursday at Phoebe-Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany.  He was born in Montgomery County, Alabama and was the son of the late Charles Hilton and Charlotte Mosley Urquhart.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Jean Urquhart.  Mr. Urquhart, a United States Navy Veteran, was self-employed and was a member of Cordele First United Methodist Church.  He is survived by his children and their spouses, Scott and Sabrina Urquhart, Julie and Arthur Carr, all of Cordele and Amy and Tim Rider, of Johns Creek; two brothers, Charles Urquhart of Lithonia and Wayne Urquhart; and seven grandchildren, Kali McCalvin, Taylor McCalvin, Morgan Carr, Jamie Carr, Ben Carr, Zach Rider and Jacob Rider.
